Risk Management and Loss Prevention Services
Provide Help When It's Needed Most

PRP staff devoted more than 8,000 hours in 2001 to direct interaction with policyholders to address specific risk management or loss prevention issues, attend facility meetings, survey practices and facilities and provide telephone consultations on topics that include laws governing record retention, informed consent and statutes of limitations, guidance with particular patient encounters and general education on potentially compensable events. Risk management and loss prevention consultants were also busy conducting on-site practice analyses, hearing conservation studies, ergonomics assessments, defensive driving classes, educational seminars on a variety of timely topics and fire safety monitoring and testing.

Information contained in our risk management newsletter, Risk Review, was supplemented with additional materials online at our Web site, and Risk Alerts were sent to notify policyholders of topics that warrant immediate attention.
